Citric acid is an organic acid that occurs naturally in fruits. Too high of a level is harmful to the plant and damages the root system. With the correct dosage, the citric acid is converted to phosphates (adenosine triphosphate or ATP and adenosine diphosphate or ADP). ATP and ADP are energy carriers and transport energy to the leaf and root systems. This makes both essential for the growth of the plant. Use Citric Acid to lower the pH value of the substrate or water to the desired value, or to rinse the substrate. Always do this without a feed solution (rinsing).
Citric Acid can be used on all types of substrates.
